Mess

English has never been my favorite subject. In fact, it has always been my least favorite subject. Going through school, I often wondered why I needed to do so many English related tasks, and in wondering, I learned to detest the subject without realizing its future benefits. Why do I dislike English so much? Is it such a dreadful thing to learn? Isn't learning how to correctly write and interpret the English language important? Well, no and yes.

"So here's my advice: Study broadly and without fear. Learn a language if you can, because that will make your life more interesting. Read a little bit every day. But more importantly, surround yourself with people who like and make cool stuff with them. In the end, what you do isn't going to be nearly as interesting or important as who you do it with." -John Green

Should I deal with English as a language or a subject? Why? English is a big word for a student like me, student who is not fun with speaking in this language nor writing in this manner. My English grades was not bad, but not good as well. A story of my cousin caught my attention, she tried to do a lot of exercises to promote her ability to deal with English exams her high school life. However, even their top students dared not to say he was good at English. Most of them can even not talk about the weather fluently because their is just good at English exam not in English language. Well for that, I think I should practice more about English language, I mean master it as a language not as a subject. Studying English language is very important, it can help me in writing and reading, especially using it is the greatest effect and be creative with the language itself. Without English, we cannot communicate to other countries if we were lost. And also, for a girl like me who loves to travel or socialize it is important because it is a tool that always carry. Knowing how to speak English enables a person to express himself especially when dealing with different people of different languages.

As a G-9 student, I don't know how many times I answer or even participate in my English class. I hate public speaking. My weakest talent is this, speaking in English. I think my relation with my English teacher is weaker than my confidence level in her class. I'm not that student who always active or even speak in English every time. Seriously speaking, English is my weakest subject ever, even when I'm in elementary. I always focuses in sports, math, Filipino and other subjects but not English. But because of my English teacher, because of her I'll push my self to study and master it even it is so hard on my part. Mrs. Mildred Atentido is really a great mentor. She seems very strict when I first met her. She teaches well, she helps big, and she never give up in you with this way. She had an amazing ability to communicate with students. She make her student tense. She make her class very interesting. She deserve all appreciations and respectful. Even though, I'm not good in her class, I learned from her how to be confident of myself. Her life lessons will continue to have an effect on my life. Thank you Mama Maye!
